He can take that bucket and... Point, though that's still a lot of shirts. Six, Jack, six shirts. He can also have the lock and one of the fireman's uniforms, because that's all that's left. But! he can keep his bucket since they weren't able to deliver on the second one.

How does that sound for the tool sharpening and future canoe repair?

...and that better not be sarcasm. Listen, she can be a good neighbor too! We need to watch each others backs, right? How about we strike a little deal, just us. If you continue to sharpen her tools, she'll continue to provide him with some ammunition for the gun she'd given him.

Well, six shirts is not so terrible.

It does mean that canoe repair will become conditional, though. If his supply of repair materials gets scarce, she'll have to supply her own. And he gets to decide the definition of scarce. Savvy?

Now, a side deal of ammunition for sharpening of her own personal blades, that he'll agree to. Between neighbors, special-like. But you'd best not abuse it, and gunpowder would also be very welcome.

Not at all.

Hmmm. Is he going to define scarce now or later, because she gets the feeling that his definition might change like the tide with his mood. She's just curious!

Great. Let's shake on it then. Most definitely special like. And hey! She's not going to abuse it. She'd bring ammunition for him when she needs something sharpened. How could you accuse her of trying to cheat the system they hadn't even started yet. She's so hurt! But, yeah, of course. She'll keep an eye out.

[personal profile] sulliednunusual 2013-11-19 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
Well he'll have to define it later, won't he? Circumstances are strange, unpredictable things. If he's got boats what need mending as well, they'll of course be needing priority. And that's just one example.

Yes, let's shake on it then. And you can't blame a pirate for being suspicious of those as would make deals with pirates, now can you? But he is quite pleased to call her his neighbor, even so.

She figured she wouldn't be getting an answer right now, but it didn't hurt to ask. Yup. Understood. If the canoe needs mending and his materials are scarce she'll supply them, as promised... if she's got them. Circumstances. Strange. Unpredictable.

It looks like we've got a deal, Captain. Six shirts, the lock, and the uniform... though... half now half later. Call it incentive. Because they've got needy customers, the tools need sharpening at his earliest convenience.

It's settled then. No, she supposes not... but, c'mon, best neighbors. He should join her in a raid sometime... and they can even bring Tj, Jesse, or James 'cause someone's got to be the pack-mule. It'll be fun.
sulliednunusual: (great and wonderous)

Supply the tools and a bit of water and he'll get to sharpening. Won't take more than a handful of hours, though he does work faster with a drink in him.

He's so glad they're reaching accords all around. Pleasure doing business. Looking forward to future endeavors. So on.
