✦ STEALING POLICY ✦

Encouraged!

TSO a player run organization with a small staff of PCs. We want to have some fun, and a little conflict is a sure fire way to get it. Your character can absolutely attempt to shoplift/hold up/ambush/break-in/otherwise steal from TSO and those who work there. They do have a fairly intense security system activated at night, but the man who maintained it is no longer in Box so there's always a chance of it breaking...

Speaking of chance! The crux of our theft policy is that it is determined by weighted dice rolls, a la Dungeons & Dragons (here is a sample of how that works from our previous TSO post). If your character wants to steal, they would fill out the theft form like so:

Item(s) to Steal: What does your character want to take? Use your good sense on this one. If your character is alone, they likely cannot steal something that would take two people to carry.
Scenario: How is your character attempting to steal the item? This can range anywhere from your character swiping something off a shelf in the middle of the day to several characters acting together in a premeditated burglary. The more detailed the easier it is to weight the dice rolls against you, but please avoid godmoding. No character is guaranteed successful.
Aptitude: Briefly let us know what your character's background is. Are they a professional thief? Do they have combat training? Can they fly? Are they an inch tall? What do they have going for or against them that will influence their ability to pull off whatever they're attempting? This does not only have to be positive! If your character is a huge klutz and that might have bearing, let us know!

REMEMBER: Unless your character gets off scott free (which is always a chance), there will very likely be in-game CR consequences for theft. This post is in a player journal but it represents a physical business within the Box world. While these consequences might not be negative (for example, if your character is starving and steals some bread, it's unlikely TSO staff will go all Javert on you), they very likely will be! Be advised!

Happy stealing!
